The MIUI 15 interface is expected to be released for Xiaomi, Poco and Redmi devices later this year. However, users may be in for some disappointment as a result of new reports. According to the allegations, Xiaomi will not support themes in previous versions with the MIUI 15 update.

You will not be able to use old themes with MIUI 15

MIUI 15 is shaping up to be one of Xiaomi’s biggest releases yet, with lots of new features and performance boosts. However, some of these systemic changes may break compatibility with older theme files.

According to Xiaomiui, the Chinese company will update its theme software with MIUI 15. This will invalidate themes designed for older versions.

The removal of legacy theme support with MIUI 15 means that users will lose access to the custom themes they used in previous MIUI versions. This means saying goodbye to favorite icon packs, wallpapers and other customizations that are not compatible with the new software.

Xiaomi released the Android 14 update for three models!

Xiaomi recently rolled out the stable Android 14 update for three of its phones. Here are the smartphones that received the update.

However, Xiaomi will warn theme developers about this and may integrate them into MIUI 15. In other words, users can give some feedback to developers and ask for MIUI 15 compatible versions.

It should be reminded that this claim has not yet been confirmed by Xiaomi. However, it seems likely that old theme support will be discontinued after the upgrade.

The Chinese manufacturer announced that the first device to receive the MIUI 15 update will be the Redmi K60 Iltra. We expect other flagship models to receive the update by the end of the year.
